The site of the Six Senses Hideaway at Zighy Bay, in the Sultanate of Oman, is a secluded fishing village on the Sultanate's northern Musandam Peninsula. It is designed with 82 pool villas and pool villa suites and with a private marina.
The setting is quite dramatic, with mountains on one side and a 1.6 kilometre sandy beach at Zighy Bay, on the other. The adventures start at Zighy Bay and allow you to experience the culture of Oman and the buzz of the UAE. During a stay at Zighy Bay it is possible to design and customise activities and tours to suit both the active guest and the guest who prefers to sit back and relax.
A stay at Zighy Bay offers the opportunity to experience sunset cruises, dhow cruises, rock climbing, paragliding, mountain biking, hiking, snorkelling, 4x4 drives and scuba diving. All these activities can be pre-arranged prior to your stay or pick and choose as you like while you are there.
Zighy Bay is a magical destination for children of all ages. The hotel offers the Chaica's Club for children 4 to 10 to keep them occupied and make your holiday a little more relaxing. There's watersports, sand castles, treasure hunts, and learning about Arabian history and local culture. The Teen Club offers adventure hikes, wadi swimming, canyoning or just learning new skills like archery, raft building and abseiling.
Cinema Paradiso keeps all the family entertained with movies on the beach under a blanket of stars while unconventional ushers serve five flavours of popcorn, 40 icecream flavours and refreshing softdrinks. Explore Arabic cooking with our master chefs in the Organic Garden where you will pick your ingredients before learning and practicing details of the wholesome nature that is prevalent in Arabic cooking. For younger guests, cookie and cake making are a fun but messy affair.
Why we like it
Such a perfect place to escape to for a winter holiday to Oman with a wonderful climate, a superb location with something to offer everyone – this is a bit of a cliché but there really is!
For the adventurous you could arrive in style and paraglide into reception or if you would rather keep your feet closer to the ground you could opt to cruise into the bay.
