Tailor-Made Holiday

Northern Botswana Flying Safari

Bird's eye view of Botswana across the Okavango Delta and Savuti

10 days

from £4,695pp (excluding flights)

Flying over northern Botswana offers a bird’s eye view of the Okavango Delta and Savuti. The diversity of wildlife and activities combine well with very comfortable accommodation. This African holiday is particularly suitable for those looking for a concise all-round wildlife safari if time is short. Additional days on an island in Mozambique can be added at the end.

  • Stay in some of the best lodges in the area
  • Experience excursions on the water in dugout canoe and motor boat any time of year
  • Include game drives in prime wilderness areas with professional guides
  • Combine three distinct areas of northern Botswana

This journey over northern Botswana includes time in the wildlife rich Moremi National Park of the Okavango Delta where game drives are the main activity. Time in a private wilderness concession allows for additional activities exploring the delta from a boat or a dugout canoe. The last few days offer the opportunity to experience luxury camping amongst the abundant wildlife of Savuti.

Annual rainfall over Botswana and Angola between November and March provides most of the water which filters into the northern Botswanan desert creating the Okavango Delta. The wildlife concentrations in the dry season from April to October are very dependent on the water sources that are created in the rainy season. However not all Botswanan safaris offer water activities throughout the year because the water levels fluctuate.

All the camps on this safari are well positioned to make the most of permanent water and subsequently offer a variety of water-based and land-based activities. These include boating, canoeing, game drives and walks led by professionally trained guides, horseback riding and helicopter flights. Specially adapted vehicles and professional photographic guides are also available to help with the improvement of photography skills.

The design of each camp is as diverse as the activities offered there, however service, quality throughout and attention to detail are constant.

Jackie Devereux, Travel Expert

"Every part of our trip was the highlight and it is not possible for us to point out just one thing, event or place."

"However, we received a magnificent surprise of a helicopter ride between camps in Botswana which meant a flight over the delta and an opportunity to see the delta and how it is formed. It was a wonderful surprise organised by Jackie and we were both absolutely overjoyed with the opportunity. I do not believe that there was more that could have been done as we had a magnificent trip."

"Jackie was excellent- she listened and was very knowledgeable."
