Mowani Mountain Camp

Mowani Mountain Camp commands superb views over the ancient and rugged landscape of the Aba-Huab valley.

The camp has been carefully designed to create the impression of an African village and the lodge itself is considered to be one of the finest in the Damaraland region of Namibia, which offers astounding desert scenery, fascinating geological formations and archaeological sites and an incomparable variety of desert flora and fauna.

Accommodation is spread across twelve beautifully decorated east African style tents, each with an en suite bathroom and a private dining and sitting room. The main lodge area consists of dome-like thatched structures offering a restaurant, bar, dining room and private lounge area which all overlook the local watering hole.

Activities at Mowani include daytime guided nature drives to find mountain zebra, kudu, springbok and the adaptable Desert Elephant. Other nearby attractions include one of the richest collections of African Rock Art at Twyfelfontein, the Petrified Forests, the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain.

Why We Like Mowani Mountain Camp

It's the best place to watch the sun go down, it's like a movie setting looking down at the sprawling sculptural desert sand and rock composition. The best place to see desert elephants.
