Dar Ahlam is a beautiful 19th Century Kasbah. The land surrounding the Kasbah was once the private hunting grounds of a Sultan and has been landscaped to include a heated, T-shaped swimming pool, surrounded by date palms and olive trees.
Dine on traditional Moroccan specialities with a modern twist and be prepared for a lovely surprise each day as you will never eat in the same place twice!
Why we like Dar Ahlam
The height of luxury. Jaw-droppingly special.
Each of the 13 suites and one villa have been individually decorated, using antique furniture mixed with chic French style fabrics and luxurious toiletries. The Villa is by the central patio and has a private fireplace and private heated pool. The charming and discreet staff could not be more efficient and will ensure that a stay here really is extra special.
There are so many beautiful spots to dine around the property. Take lunch in the herb garden or an olive grove, or dine in a cosy corner on the terraces.
- Outdoor heated swimming pool
- Free cooking lessons at the hotel
The hotel offers its own bespoke desert camping experience which makes a wonderful addition to a stay here. Excursions can be arranged through the hotel ranging from walks in the local area, hikes in the gorges, horseback riding, cooking lessons and much more. Quad-bike or camel-ride your way to nearby gorges and fortified villages.
If in an adventurous mood you can spend the night under the stars in the desert, in a tent for two.
Dar Ahlam is a traditional Kasbah near the Moroccan desert near Ouarzazate (45 minutes away) in the palm grove of Skoura. Reached by a dusty road from the Atlas mountains into the Sahara or by domestic flight to Ouarzazate airport. The driving time from Marrakech is four hours.
