Jalman Meadows ger camp is an authentic low impact camp offering comfortable ger accommodation as well as separate library, dining and shower gers. The valleys surrounding the camp serve as winter grazing areas for the local nomads and the grasslands burst with the colour of wildflowers in the summer.
Hiking, horse-riding, rafting and kayaking are amongst the activities on offer and the camp provides the opportunity to experience the wildlife, culture and landscapes of Mongolia.
Why we like Jalman Meadows Ger Camp
Jalman Meadows is quiet and authentic, accessible but remote. There are no buildings and at the end of the season the camp can be dismantled and no evidence would remain of its existence. Vehicles are banned from the camp and must be parked nearby, luggage being transferred on a traditional wood cart. A truly Mongolian experience.
Meals are taken in the restaurant ger and the camp may even set up a ger sauna on the banks of the river.
This area is a wonderful location for walking and enjoying the local wildlife. Activities on offer from the camp include horse riding, mountain biking and river rafting.
Located in Jalman Meadows, within the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area, a three-hour drive northeast of Ulaanbaatar with the final eight kilometres of the journey to the camp undertaken either on foot, on horseback or by yak cart.
