Once a 16th Century convent, the Quinta Real has been carefully converted into a luxury hotel. All rooms are air-conditioned and have shuttered windows opening onto Oaxaca's historical streets.
Some of the suites have their own balconies overlooking quiet Spanish baroque courtyards.
While a luxury hotel, it also retains an authentic colonial style with tiled corridors and restored patios, one of which was the original convent laundry and still has a large, carved stone basin in the centre.
There is a formal restaurant 'El Refectorio', or you can dine outside in the courtyard. There is also a bar, an outdoor pool, and hot tub.
