Loisaba Tented Camp

Loisaba Tented Camp has been completely rebuilt. Sitting high on the edge of the Laikipia plateau, it some of the most spectacular far-reaching views in the region. The rooms are enormous, with the smooth, bright wood interiors softened by contemporary safari-style rugs and soft leather sofas.

The design, however, is undeniable African, with all rooms sitting under a large canvas roof. Lanterns and candles add atmosphere, whilst the porcupine quill lampshades add a sense of fun. The decks in front of the rooms offer dramatic views across the plains, where a water hole far below draws families of elephants, greater kudus and giraffes during the day. These stunning views can also be appreciated from the camp's stylish infinity pool.

The main mess area continues the open, spacious feel, with the main bar the perfect place to sink into the cushions and chairs with a pre-dinner drink. Listen to the sounds of lions and hyenas at night.

Why We Like It

The views alone are worth a visit, but the classic mix of contemporary retro design, with a nod to classic African heritage, offers one of the most exciting places to stay, in the heart of the game rich Laikipia plateau. And of course, you have the star beds.

For those who really want to experience the epic views and never-ending African skies, Loisaba is also the home of the original star beds. These small, en-suite rooms feature an open veranda on which a four poster bed can be rolled out, so that you can sleep under the stars.
