Gadlessa is a beautiful and intimate camp, sitting on the southern bank of the Galana River, tucked away in a cluster of doum palms. The 11 rooms are semi-tented, raised on wooden platforms and unique to lodges in the area, offer beautiful river views, surrounded by natural foliage to ensure privacy.
The dry river beds and small forests found here offer a much more diverse habitat than other parks and although the wildlife is more skittish and the park much larger, the thrill of your time in Galdessa lies in genuinely feeling as if you are heading out into the wilds, with walking safaris particularly rewarding.
Why We Like It
The river setting, the doum palms and the sense of space around the camp is perfect for those who are as much about the scenery, setting and sense of wilderness as they are ticking of lists. Also great for walking safaris.
