Work Experience with Steppes Travel
Steppes Travel sets aside three times per year for giving young local people an opportunity for work experience at Steppes Travel.
When:
In the last two weeks of March there are 2 or 3 places available for 16–18-year-old BTEC/A Level students preferably doing a tourism related subject at a school or college in the Gloucestershire area. The placement lasts for one week.
In the last two weeks of June there are 2 or 3 places available for Year 11 students from a local school in the Gloucestershire area. The placement lasts for one week.
Between the months of July – Sept there is a place available for an under-graduate or recently graduated young person, for a work experience placement of up to a maximum of 10 weeks.
What can I expect from the experience:
Successful candidates will spend time with each department of Steppes Travel to gain an insight into the working practise of a tour operator. We will ask you to use the knowledge acquired to complete a project requiring a written piece of work at the end of the experience. This may be a competitor analysis, a project based on creating a mock tour operator or a project requiring the candidate to create their perfect sustainable holiday.
How do I apply:
Anybody interested needs to complete a cover letter explaining why they are keen to gain work experience with Steppes and what qualities they will bring to the experience. Send your letter to [email protected]
