Product & Content Executive

This role offers an outstanding opportunity to help elevate and innovate our product offering, enhancing both the quality and sustainability of our hotel and holiday idea portfolio.

We are looking for somebody with previous experience of working in the high-end, tailor-made travel industry, who shares our commitment to positive impact travel.

Responsibilities

General

Product

Source and develop compelling experiences and properties that:

  • Resonate with the Steppes’ client base and the high-end travel market
  • Embody the company’s brand values and meet with marketing briefs
  • Meet with strict sustainability criteria and deliver on our three Ps – profit, people and planet
  • Help fulfil our commercial goals

Dynamic content generation which will include:

  • Copy writing for our website, magazine, social media and other collateral
  • Creating web pages (using WordPress) to showcase our holiday ideas, experiences and hotel partners
  • Assisting the sales team with writing itinerary copy for our CMS

Maintain positive relationships with our key suppliers to ensure:

  • Outstanding commercial terms
  • Exceptional service and delivery (using our Post Travel Questionnaire as a means of Quality Control)
  • A shared commitment to Positive Impact Travel
  • Documented Health and Safety measures
  • Attend supplier and trade events as required (possible evenings and weekends)

The role will entail close collaboration with our marketing and sales team, working together on holiday ideas, experiences and hotels for our website.

Commercial

  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate favourable payment terms, rates, overrides and value adds
  • Work with the Product Director to create, cost and administrate charters
  • In collaboration with Head of Sales, communicate product updates to the sales team and organise training to fill any knowledge gaps

Sustainability

  • Look to align our product with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Assist with collating data from hotels and cruise companies, that helps Steppes more accurately determine the carbon footprint of its holidays
  • Assist with supply chain audits to ensure our suppliers are in alignment with our Positive Impact commitments
  • Manage our relationships with the various NGOs we support through our Positive Impact initiatives

Skills/Experience required

  • First hand experience of working in the high-end, tailor-made travel industry
  • An appreciation and understanding of sustainability in the context of the travel industry
  • People skills – ability to forge long-lasting relationships with colleagues and suppliers
  • Good computer literacy and a willingness to expand your knowledge
  • Copywriting and close attention to detail
  • Administration and organisational skills
  • Time management and an ability to prioritise

Nice to have

  • Good knowledge of Latin America, having both travelled there and had experience of working in the travel industry with Latin American suppliers.
  • Experience of using platforms such as Canva or Adobe Suite to generate eye-catching collateral for promotion of our holidays on social
  • Happy sourcing and formatting images to represent our key products

Terms/Conditions

  • Hours of work – 09:00 – 17:30 hours, Mon to Thursday, 09:00 – 17:00 Friday, and occasionally over weekends and evenings (e.g. if attending supplier and trade events as required)
  • Paid Holidays – 20 days (increasing after two years of continuous employment)
  • Up to two days a week working from home
  • Pension, Private Healthcare and Travel Insurance – contributory after a six-month probationary period
  • Full-time 37.5 hours or Part-time position considered
