Content Executive

The Steppes Travel Group is a specialist Tour Operator offering a wide range of interesting and inspiring holiday programmes worldwide.  Steppes Travel has been operating highly personalised holidays for over 30 years. Our itineraries are carefully constructed by our experienced, knowledgeable and extremely well-travelled staff, to ensure that our clients are looked after at all times while abroad and by highly qualified guides. We have continued to grow and develop our business and invest in our staff; by improving the office environment, developing new technology and products, plus adapting the company infrastructure and business plan.

This role is a key to growing the Steppes business and our overall success. This job description is designed to give you an understanding of what is expected of you, in this role, as well as how the position relates to the rest of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

The main focus of this role is to support the marketing team with the administration and creation of content across the business. You will also liaise with other teams to ensure that the images and written content relating to our hotel portfolio and holiday ideas are kept updated across the website and within our internal systems.

Specific

Website:

  • Adding new hotels and updating existing ones with new images and copy
  • Working with our sales team to update holiday ideas
  • Uploading new holiday ideas to the website
  • Adding SEO titles and descriptions to posts and pages on the website
  • Preparing images for uploading to the website including adding metadata

Internal CRM/CMS:

  • Helping upload new hotels, excursions to our internal systems. Including proofreading and amending errors.

Content Marketing:

  • Help to prepare content for enews, our blog and for press
  • Keeping our social media accounts updated with new and inspiring content.

Individual responsibilities:

  • Develop your own skills through training within the company
  • Take part in relevant information sharing
  • Help to create a supportive department that works towards sales, personal and departmental targets.

Terms/Conditions

  • Hours of work – 09:00 – 17:30 hours, Mon to Thursday, 09:00 – 17:00 Friday, and exceptionally over weekends and evenings (e.g. if working at an event).
  • Paid Holidays – 20 days (increasing after two years of continuous employment)
  • Up to two days a week working from home
  • Salary from £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus great benefits
  • Pension, Private Healthcare and Travel Insurance – contributory after a six-month probationary period
  • Full-time 37.5 hours or Part-time position of 30 hours per week 

Skills/Experience required

  • Good computer literacy and a willingness to expand your knowledge is essential for this role. We are looking for someone comfortable with learning new processes and able to share these skills with other colleagues.
  • You should have some experience editing images either in Photoshop or other image editing software
  • Previous website editing experience or an ability to pick up and learn new software.
  • Interest in social media
  • Good written ability, with a high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Works to a brief
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • A strong team player with personality, knowledge and commitment to the Steppes Travel concept of supplying high quality tailor-made holidays.
