The Menjangan Resort offers a unique chance to experience the natural treasures of the unspoilt Bali Barat National Park, set amidst 382 hectares on the stunning north west coast of Bali near Menjangan Island. Menjangan is found in one of the least visited but most beautiful parts of the island and home to some of the best diving in this part of Indonesia.
Accommodation varies from Javanese Joglo style villas on the private beach, with modern and sleek interiors, plenty of natural light and stunning views to the Monsoon rooms and suites found in the heart of the forest or perched on a cliff overlooking the sea.
Why we like it
The Menjangan is the best place to dive on Bali itself but more than that, it is offers something different from the glamorous beach resorts or the stylish boutique properties of Ubud. It has a rustic feel, more akin to a wildlife lodge yet with a beautiful beach on its doorstep.
Kayak through the mangroves, dive or snorkel around one of the most beautiful coral reefs in Bali. Go trekking or mountain biking or venture through the forest on horseback. Take a guided birdwatching trip to try and spot more than 120 species of birds, many of which are endangered.
- Visit the open air Mangrove Spa
- Relax in the hot tub and pool at the Monsoon Lodge
- Chose a film or good book at the library, also home to WiFi connection
- A Five Star PADI dive centre to learn or hone your skills
- Explore the mangroves by kayak
The Menjangan is found on the north west tip of Bali, east of Java, which you can see on a clear day. It is around a two-hour drive from Ubud or a five our drive from the airport.
