Wind and sun on your face. The zipping sound of a rotating freewheel. Scents of heather teasing your nose. There are few things better than exploring the British countryside on two wheels.

Choose the option that suits you

For those who are less experienced, we would recommend a fully supported and guided trip. This leaves navigating and logistics in the hands of your guide, whilst you always have the option of jumping in the support vehicle if things get a little too tough.

For the more adventurous, a part-guided option is a good choice. The guide can join you for the most challenging days, but you will still get the chance to explore on your own.

If this still sounds too cosseted, then we can simply handle logistics and luggage transfers for you. You will be provided with a recommended route, as well as some places of interest on route, but there will be no guide or support vehicle.

Routes for all abilities

We understand that gruelling climbs aren’t what everyone is looking for. If you simply want to freewheel from one cafe (or pub) to the next, then we have still got you covered.

For those who prefer this relaxed form of cycling, we can recommend routes through the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, the New Forest or Norfolk. Along the way, stop at country houses, art galleries, manicured gardens and rustic eateries.

And for those who want to feel their lungs burn as they crest a windswept pass, we can plan routes through Wales, Scotland and the north of England. Here, the tarmac in front of you cuts through a wild landscape decorated with rich greens, browns and purples.

Try an e-bike

E-bikes are becoming increasingly popular and are highly recommended for both those who are new to cycling and groups of mixed abilities.

If you enjoy cycling but feel that your fitness is holding you back, an e-bike can help you get the most out of a cycling holiday. The electric motor gives you the helping hand you need, so you are able to appreciate the beautiful views even as the road tilts steeply upwards.

And for couple or families where there is a large gap in cycling ability, e-bikes are the perfect leveller. With the option to set the level of assistance to your personal preference, cycling becomes as easy or as hard as you want to make it.

Our recommendations

The UK is packed with fantastic cycling landscapes. And, thanks to the National Cycle Network, there is an impressive network of low-traffic and traffic-free routes to chose from.

But for a dose of quiet country cycling, it is hard to beat the idyllic landscapes of the northern Cotswolds. Here, timeless valleys hide beautiful country houses, beneath hilltop villages home to perfectly preserved medieval churches.

For big landscapes and challenging rides, Scotland’s north and west coasts are hard to beat. Whether you’re crawling up the tight hairpins of Bealach na Ba or flying down towards the shores of Loch Eriboll, the views are simply unsurpassable.

Rob Gardiner

Born and bred in the Cotswolds, Rob grew up on the back of his parents’ tandem. But despite this early baptism into the world of cycling, he didn’t fully embrace the obsession until his early twenties, when he set off on an 11,000-kilometre journey that took him from the UK to India.

Illona Cross

Born in a small South African town, I have always followed my passion for nature and discovery. After studying Nature Conservation in Pretoria, I was one of the first women to complete a very tough cadetship in the Natal Parks Board. It was here where I cut my teeth in African wildlife management.
