How does this holiday make a positive impact?

Set within 4,000 acres of jungle along Nicaragua’s Pacific coast, Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge stands as a model of conservation and sustainable living. Half of the property is protected as a private nature reserve, while the remainder supports low-impact agriculture and responsibly managed forestland. Guests can take part in hands-on experiences such as reforestation, organic farming and aquaculture, gaining insight into the lodge’s ongoing work to preserve biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions.

Through the safeguarding of nesting beaches and the protection of turtle eggs and hatchlings, La Flor Wildlife Refuge help stabilise vulnerable turtle populations that play an essential role in maintaining healthy marine environments. Local communities are often directly involved, benefiting from conservation-led tourism and education programmes that encourage sustainable livelihoods and a deeper respect for the ocean.

A visit to Mombacho Volcano offers the chance to explore its mist-shrouded cloud forests while contributing to local conservation and sustainable tourism. Within the Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve, visitors may encounter howler monkeys, the endemic Mombacho salamander and a remarkable variety of rare plants that thrive in this cool, elevated ecosystem.
