The Maldives has reached an extraordinary level of sophistication and is home to some of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels and resorts on earth. Under the water, the Maldives has the most incredible sea life, and the clear warm waters means there isn’t a wet suit in sight. Destination dining has been taken to an entirely new level. Dream up your own menus with the chef, and have your meal set out on private sandbanks, deep in the jungle or even under the sea. The choice is yours. The Maldives just keeps pushing the boundaries – and is an exciting place to holiday.

How To Choose Your Island

When visiting somewhere like the Maldives the devil is in the detail. Choosing where to stay in the Maldives is a bit of a minefield. What is it that sets one island resort apart from the rest?

How do you choose the one that is going to suit you? The islands clients choose really comes down to personal preference and the type of atmosphere they prefer, large with more facilities and possibly family-friendly or smaller and more intimate.

Our Maldives experts have dangled their toes in many hotel pools and are ideally placed to recommend the perfect resort for your requirements. There are few people who know more about the Maldives than they do or who can design a better Maldives holiday for you.

Learn To Dive in the Maldives

If this has repeatedly shown up year after year on your wishlist, what better place than the Maldives to learn. With warm calm waters, oceans teeming with fish, and possibly the best place on earth to dive, it is perfect for beginners. Explore the spectacular house reefs in the resort, that are often just metres from the beach, home of the exotic marine life; from stingrays and lionfish to snappers and eels. Kids can learn from the age of ten. Witness their excitement as they swim with mantas. A great hotel for eco-adventurers is Vakkaru Maldives. Famous for its manta rays, the diving here is exceptional.

When to travel

The Maldives is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit is between November and April. February is considered high season due to both low rainfall and humidity. Diving conditions are generally good all year round. June in the Maldives is a great time for those who want to discover more marine life in this Indian Ocean paradise, as it is the beginning of the monsoon season, the huge increase in plankton draws in hundreds of whale sharks and manta rays to the region.
