Tailor-Made Holiday

Highlights of Australia Holiday

a perfect first time trip - Sydney, Uluru, Great Barrier Reef and rainforest

13 days

from £5,875pp (excluding flights)

Australia is a huge country, yet with so much on offer, there are still a few sites that remain iconic and a highlight of any visit to Australia. This holiday to Australia combines the buzz of Sydney with the mystique of Uluru and the rainforest and reefs of Queensland.

  • Experience Sydney, one of the most iconic cities in the world
  • Wake to views of Uluru from your luxury suite at Longitude 131
  • Trek, kayak and snorkel in the Daintree Rainforest
  • Escape to an island on the Great Barrier Reef - seek out your own private beach and explore a magical underwater world

Sydney

The silhouettes of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are recognisable to most. Fly into Sydney and spend two days exploring the city, from the atmospheric harbour to the trendy surfing beaches, art galleries and abundance of bars and world-class restaurants.

Uluru and the Red Centre

From Sydney fly to the centre of the country and the vast outback region known as the Red Centre - an ancient and spiritual land steeped in Aboriginal history. Stay at the fabulous Longitude 131 and explore this region in style. Learn about ancient traditions and the geology of the region - from the mysterious rock monolith of Ayers Rock to the ochre domes of the Olgas. Spend days trekking and visiting local artists and evenings watching the ever-changing colours of the desert before the skies come alive with thousands of stars.

The rainforests of Cape Tribulation

Fly to Cairns and pick up your hire car to journey north to the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. The Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Daintree is one of the most scenic roads in the country with the ocean on one side and the rainforest and mountains on the other. Spend three nights amidst the rainforest of the Daintree exploring walking trails in search of resident birdlife or maybe take a bathe in a waterfall. Mossman Gorge is easily reached where indigenous cultures and traditions still thrive or spend the day in vibrant Port Douglas where there are restaurants and bars and Four Mile Beach, a beautiful stretch of palm-fringed sand.

The Great Barrier Reef

Queensland’s most famous landmark is the Great Barrier Reef which stretches for over 2,500 kilometres along Australia’s east coast. Rather than staying on mainland Australia and travelling out to the reef, stay on Lizard Island, the only resort located on a 1,013-hectare National Park located literally on the reef. Spend days kayaking, snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding, hiking, fishing or lazing with a picnic on one of the many hidden coves.

Alternatively, explore some of the 74 Whitsunday islands. Seen from above they are mesmerising or perfect for a day or more sailing. Hayman Island offers luxury and a wealth of facilities or qualia on Hamilton Island for peace and stunning sea views.
