Day 1

Arrive Lusaka (Ciêla Marriott, Bonanza Resort)

On arrival at Lusaka Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the city.

Day 2

Lusaka to South Luangwa (Three Rivers Camp)

Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Mfuwe in South Luangwa. On arrival you will be met by your guide and driven to your camp in an open vehicle, game drive transfer.

Days 3-5

South Luangwa (Three Rivers Camp)

Spend the next three days exploring the landscapes and wildlife of the South Luangwa in the company of your hosts and expert guides. Embark on morning and afternoon game drives, explore on foot during guided walking safaris, to track wildlife, and learn about the finer details of the bush. End each day with a drink in hand, alongside excellent company as the sunsets.

Day 6

South Luangwa to Lower Zambezi (Chongwe River Camp)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Lower Zambezi where you will be met and transferred by game drive to your camp for the next 4 nights.

Days 7-9

Lower Zambezi (Chongwe River Camp)

Spend the next three days exploring the Lower Zambezi. Search for lion, leopard, elephant and wild dog on morning game drives. Guided canoe safaris are an exciting and brillient way to view some of the wildlife on eye level, as are guided walking safaris and your guides are some of the best. Try your hand at catch and release tiger and bream fishing and end the day with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi before sitting round the campfire and dining beneath the stars.

Day 10

Lower Zambezi to Lusaka

Transfer to the airport for flights back to Lusaka for onward travel.

Paul Joynson Hicks

Paul is an award-winning wildlife photographer who has lived in East Africa for over 30 years. A fluent Swahili speaker, he has published four photography books and his work is permanently exhibited in the Serengeti. Passionate about conservation, he co-founded the internationally acclaimed Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, using humour to raise awareness of global issues. Based in northern Tanzania with his family, Paul also guides travellers, from beginners to professionals, sharing his knowledge of wildlife and photography. His community projects, supporting disadvantaged groups, earned him an MBE from King Charles.

Tom Sullam

Tom’s path to professional photography began after a degree in psychology and a decade in London, before mentorship from renowned landscape photographer Charlie Waite led him into the field. Early tours across Scotland, France and the US helped Tom hone his craft and develop his own photographic eye. After five years in Tanzania, he expanded into wildlife photography, running workshops and guiding trips. Alongside Paul Joynson Hicks, Tom co-founded the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, an internationally celebrated competition that uses humour to inspire awareness of biodiversity and sustainability.

South Luangwa National Park is one of the oldest parks in Africa, with a rich tradition of excellent guiding and it is the walking safaris here that really make Zambia stand out. South Luangwa is one of the few national parks in Africa where you can walk and it is not unusual to see iconic safari giants – a thrilling experience on foot.
