Greenland - Icebergs

The icebergs in Greenland are one of the country’s greatest attractions.  Gigantean structures some up to one hundred metres high dominate the coast. Created by the glaciers, and like the ice cap, the icebergs are a constant changing state.  Every iceberg is unique in shape and size.

Icebergs can be seen throughout Greenland but Ilulissat and Uummannaq on the western coast are renowned for calving towering bergs off the Greenland Icecap. These massive chunks of ice sail north on the currents making a loop around Baffin Bay before heading out into the Atlantic of the Newfound coastline.
