Hara Langano is a new lodge set right on the shores of the Rift Valley Lake Langano in Ethiopia. The lodge is comprised of 30 ensuite eco-lodges surrounded by ancient lakeside forest.
Each spacious lodge has two double beds and a private veranda facing the lake, which is perfect for watching the rare and endangered bird species which frequent the area. The kitchen serves a variety of fresh fare from locally produced food in the large and welcoming main restaurant.
A stay at Hara Langano offers an opportunity to view resident hippos, dikdik, hyena and baboon as well as colobus monkeys. Activities include bird watching with specialist guides, mountain biking, horse riding and trekking to local villages. Water based activities incorporate canoeing and boating, fishing and water-skiing.
Why we like it
Hara Langano has been designed to have a positive effect on it's surroundings. A key part of their philosophy is to ensure that the local community benefits the most from the lodge.
