Movenpick Resort Aswan

Movenpick Resort is set on Elephantine Island, in the middle of the River Nile with the town of Aswan on one side and the beginning of the western desert on the other. The hotel is set on 23 acres and has 230 rooms and suites, most of which have a balcony or terrace.

Additional facilities include a choice of restaurants plus a spacious outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a gym.

why we like movenpick resort aswan

Our first choice in Aswan would always be the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract. However, if on more of a budget the Movenpick, although rather an eyesore, has a beautiful location in the middle of the Nile and good facilities. The 360-degree views from the panoramic bar and restaurant are also pretty impressive.

There are regular shuttle boats operating throughout the day to ferry guests between the island and the town. In town, there is a nice souq which comes alive at night and many other sites to visit including the Temple of Philae, the High Dam and the Nubian Museum. Traditional felucca rides can also be taken from the hotel jetty to explore the Nile.

Movenpick Resort Aswan is located a short boat ride and walk from the town of Aswan and around 20 minutes from the airport.
