Offering a rainforest lodge experience on the banks of Pilchicocha Lake, Sacha Lodge is nestled deep within a private 5000-acre reserve. Arriving at the lodge is an adventure in itself, reached by a combination of motorised river boats, canoeing and hiking.
An elevated boardwalk leads to 26 individual thatched cabins, each with a shady terrace and personal hammocks, which are decorated in a bright and spacious style with sustainable wood furnishings. An incredible base for explorations of the jungle and swims in the lake pool, guests can join birds and monkeys on the delightful canopy walkway.
Why we like Sacha Lodge
This eco jungle lodge employs members from over 100 local families and offers guests the chance to explore remote jungles in the company of incredibly knowledgeable and friendly expert naturalist guides. A stay at Sacha Lodge is all about the jungle experience with entertainment taking the form of squirrel monkeys swinging through the trees above.
For a unique and memorable wildlife-viewing experience, head up to the magnificent canopy bridge that is suspended at a height of 94-feet above the rainforest or traverse the impressive 135-foot observation tower that clings to a giant kapok tree to experience close encounters with several exotic species of bird. Venture out on mysterious night walks in search of caiman, take river trips by dugout canoe, witness a nearby clay lick or go on the search for piranhas.
