Perched on the edge of Lake Garzacocha within the Amazon Rainforest, hours removed from the nearest town, La Selva Jungle Lodge offers a unique experience within an extraordinary habitat that houses more than 500 raucous species of birds including a variety of macaws, toucans and the recently discovered cocha antshrike.
Made up of 19 spacious suites, each with private porches or balconies and some with rainforest showers and lake views, the accommodations at La Selva Jungle Lodge are set within traditionally constructed and locally-inspired cabins. Large gauze-covered windows provide a steady flow of fresh air in the absence of air-conditioners, and the rooms are pierced with memorable sounds of the ever-awake jungle.
Why we like La Selva Jungle Lodge
It is possible to arrange a romantic candlelit dinner, complete with champagne and a private waiter, or to take a sunset canoe cruise over the glassy waters of the lagoon with a bottle of wine and picnic basket in tow.
Embark on expertly guided walks through the rainforest, venture out on canoeing navigations atop the murky caiman-filled tributaries, hike under cover of total darkness to witness the nocturnal forests come to life and walk to the top of the canopy observation tower for an all-encompassing experience of life at the top of the canopy.

Situated within the Ecuadorean Amazon, a tributary removed from the winding Napo River, La Selva Jungle Lodge is approximately five hours away from Quito by a combination of flight, motorised boat and canoe.
