Andaman Islands

Located midway between India and Myanmar, the remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands are made up of over 325 volcanic islands and islets. The reefs surrounding the archipelago are some of the most bio-diverse in India with some 200 species of coral as well as extensive mangroves and seagrass meadows which attract endangered species such as dugong.
Port Blair, the gateway to the islands, is accessible from most mainland Indian airports, followed by a short hop or a two-hour boat ride to the island of Havelock. With direct flights from northern India and a number of lovely boutique properties to choose from, these islands offer a perfect end a holiday in the region.

Havelock Island
Havelock Island is part of Ritchie’s Archipelago and is where our favourite hotels are located. A small island with an interior of lush, dense rainforest, surrounded by reef fringed beaches, it offers fabulous diving and snorkelling and you are generally no more than a 15-minute drive from anything. Getting around the island is easy – hire a scooter or a bike or auto-rickshaws and taxis are readily available. Alternatively, join the locals and catch the regular, and rather jolly bus service.
