This itinerary suggestion to the Dalmatian and Istrian coast is an excellent option for anyone short on time but eager to pack the sites in. The highlights include Dubrovnik, Split, Stari Grad, Hvar and little known Losinj Island. Flying down the Croatian coast needs to be done in style. Fly north from the Dalmatian coast to Losinj Island by private plane, and discover the Croatian coastline from an entirely new perspective.

  • Travel by a Cessna private plane, allowing you to cover more ground on your Croatian holiday
  • Discover the ancient cities of Dubrovnik and Split
  • Visit Stari Grad on Hvar Island, the oldest town in Croatia
  • Experience the sheer beauty and isolation of Mali Losinj
  • Swim and snorkel the clear waters of Vis and Bisevo from your private motor boat

During this 12-day holiday to Croatia explore four destinations on this most dramatic coastline, boasting numerous historic centres.

charter PLANES

Travel on board the privately chartered fleet of Cessna and Piper aircraft  travelling high above  the 2500 miles of Croatia's stunning coastline. The planes can operate from small air strips making travel by air now possible to locations in Croatia that have been previously inaccessible by scheduled flight services.

Dubrovnik and Split

Starting off in the historic city of Dubrovnik before continuing to the top of Srdj mountain for a bird’s eye view of this World Heritage gem.  Continue south to the charming seaside town of Cavtat and the rolling Konavle valley. The sea plane service has recently arrived in Dubrovnik allowing this popular destination to be linked to Split. A 45-minute direct flight brings you to the harbour of Split, home to Diocletian’s Palace and the home of Roman, Gothic, Romanesque architecture.  Split is also a cosmopolitan city by night. Take a stroll along the Riva harbour promenade at sunset and watch the city come to life.

Hvar Island

On arriving into Jelsa Bay by sea plane you will spend time in Stari Grad, home to ancient pedestrian streets. Hvar is known for its fine wine producers. Wine making has almost been perfected on the island, hence it is almost unthinkable to leave Hvar without a face-to-face encounter with their wines. The island's winemakers are undergoing something of a renaissance. Visit the home of Ivo Dubokovic, Croatia's leading boutique winemaker. This are excellent opportunities to taste the quality and olive oils of the island. Wine tasting in the famous Huljic winery should not be missed. The best way to discover some of the smaller Dalmatian Islands is by hiring your very own private boat with skipper.  Take a fresh sea food lunch in any one of the numerous hidden bays.

Losinj

Life on Losinj offers gourmet food, chilled Istrian wines, warm clear seas and uncrowded beaches. The focus of the island is the main town - Mali Losinj – with its crystal clear seas, cosy little houses, centuries old pine woods and fabulous healing air – some say.  Losinj is reached from Split by private air travel. The arrival into Losinj, low over Cikat bay never fails to impress. Pine clad Cikat Bay offers the best swimming and is home for the next four nights.

How can we make your holiday even more special

  • Take a private cooking class with Tatjana in her 13th Century old palace home in Trogir
  • Embark on a day of light hiking or cycling inside the Dalmatia Hinterland with picnic lunch.

Highlights of Dubrovnik Rivera - Full Day Guided Tour
Rarely can a historic city with such immense visual appeal as Dubrovnik offer visitors' sights worth exploring outside of its historic centre. However, this UNESCO World Heritage jewel is just a part of the most dramatic coastline boasting numerous wonderful spots and places. Experience all of the highlights of the Dubrovnik Riviera in one day trip

Start in the Old Town with a walking tour of this amazing town exploring all the main monuments and sights before continuing to the top of Srdj mountain with the cable car. Resting high above the Old Town, this is the ideal spot for a spectacular panorama view of the town and surrounding islands that is guaranteed to take your breath away. Continue south of majestic Dubrovnik to the most charming town of Cavtat and the rolling arcadial Konavle valley. These are the very southernmost parts of Croatia before it meets the rugged coastline of Montenegro.

Cavtat's past, present and future are very closely tied to Dubrovnik's and this historically rich area is a delight - its old town is a warren of narrow streets and cobbled alleys and its serpentine waterfront promenade frames a picturesque harbour is simply charming.

After visiting Cavtat, continue to your final destination, the beautiful interior of the area known as the Konavle valley. Framed by the southern mountains of Herzegovina and Montenegro, its small population lives in some 32 picturesque villages scattered across this south-easterly tip of Croatia. What makes Konavle so intriguing is how its folk traditions and way of life have remained so intact, including the traditional preparation of its signature culinary dish.

Complete your tour in an authentic tavern deep in the hillside where you will get to savour the finest lamb slowly roasted under a thick iron pan covered in hot coals, also known as a 'Peka'. Accompanied by a glass of delicious local wine!

Split Sightseeing
Meet your guide for a private discovery tour of Split and the historical center. Split is one of the Adriatic's most amazing seaports and also Croatia's second-largest city. Diocletian's Palace, as the ancient heart of Split, is one of the best-preserved Roman royal residences on the planet. Originally the palatial walled summer residence of the Emperor Diocletian, Split became a city after Salona, the Roman capital of Dalmatia just 6km north, was sacked in 7thC. Fleeing refugees were given asylum inside the two meter thick walls of the palace and over the next 1000 years, the "city" of Split was such a safe haven, it never grew beyond the same walls that exist today! As a result, the remarkable ensemble of Roman, Gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance and other architectural remains are all still here-and so are more than 3,000 people still living inside these ancient walls. But Split is more than its walled palace; it's about enjoying the local way of life.

Embark on our exclusive cultural and wine tour of Hvar island which will introduce you to the island's most recognized vinters and culture.

Hvar wine tradition has been documented as early as the Greek times. By now, wine making has almost been perfected on the island, hence it is almost unthinkable to leave Hvar without a face-to-face encounter with their wines. The island's winemakers are undergoing something of a renaissance, and nowhere more so than in the heart of the wine country, in the town Jelsa. Your first destination is the Dubokovic wine cellar, home to Ivo Dubokovic, Croatia's leading boutique winemaker, and an excellent chance to taste the quality and olive oils of the island. You will also have the opportunity to taste wines in the famous Huljic winery.

Continuing west towards Hvar Town, you will visit the imposing Spanish Fortress. Take in the view from the top for a splendid panorama both of the town and the sparkling Pakleni Islands in front of the harbor. Your tour ends with traditional dinner to remember in the abandoned village of Malo Grablje, one of the most atmospheric settings and authentic gastronomic experiences in Croatia. Legend has it that the village was founded by an illegitimate child of Henry VIII, who was shipwrecked off the southern coast of Hvar. A perfect way to end a very fulfilling wine tour of this amazing island.

Day 7

Vis and Bisevo Private Motor Boat Day Trip
Meet your skipper in the morning and board a private motor boat. Depart on a private day trip of discovering some of the most beautiful Dalmatian islands. Vis and Bisevo Islands are famous for their inlets and caves, most famous being Modra Spilja (the Blue Cave) in the Balun Cove, accessible only by a boat. On a sunny day, when the sea is calm, sunbeams penetrate through an underwater opening and the effect of the sea bottom reflecting and illuminating the cave with azure color is incredible. Enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the coves around Bisevo and Vis, fantastic nature with numerous bays and beaches which offer the peace and tranquility to make your visit to the islands memorable. On Pakleni Archipelago in front of Hvar Town your skipper can recommend a very good seafood restaurant in one of numerous hidden bays. Swimming in one of these bays is a spectacular experience you do not want to miss, because of the crystal clear sea and the wonderful pebbly beaches with pine trees! Depart to Hvar after enjoying lunch in one of the best restaurant on the Adriatic, hidden in a secluded cove of Palmizana.
