Tailor-Made Holiday

Cruise the Dalmatian Coast

11 days

from £2,935pp (excluding flights)

Combining land and sea this cruise offers an exciting voyage of discovery. Stay three nights at Hotel Excelsior in Dubrovnik, exploring Dubrovnik's historical gems before boarding the MY Callisto for a seven-night cruise along the Dalmatian Coast.

  • Wander around the enchanting old town of Split.
  • Sail through the deepest natural fjord in Europe on the approach to Montenegro.
  • Visit some of the greatest wine regions in Croatia including Korcula and Sibenik.
  • Sailing Dates from June 2019 to September 2019.

Board the MY Callisto, an elegant 17 cabin classic motor yacht on which you spend seven nights cruising along the stunning Dalmatian Coast. Speckled with islands and national parks, including Krka and Kornati, there is plenty of opportunity for land-based exploration, including Rab and Korcula and as well as discovering hidden coves with crystal clear blue waters.

Unique experiences on board and off the ship

MY Callisto is very proud of their service on board, which is discreet and personal at the same time. An evening highlight on board is the local flavour night with a local band and artists. Excursions are designed to give guests an insight into the way of life of the locals without intruding. At the same time, they will also visit the major sites and “must see” places including local wildlife reserves.

Why Cruise?

A small ship offers the opportunity to intimately explore the unique Dalmatian coastline, accessing unspoilt coves, atolls and villages accessible by small ship only.

What is given back?

Variety Cruises work with local communities, charities, wildlife projects, and undertake beach clean-ups in the destinations in which they operate.
Due to their small ships, they cannot carry all supplies and hence source a lot from local providers making this a valuable contribution to the local economy.

Sustainable best practice

MY Callisto applies environmentally friendly waste management and disposal scheme. They have recently implemented a no single plastic use policy on board. Due to their small group sizes, they have a low environmental impact on the destinations they visit.

Guides and specialists

All excursions on shore are escorted by a local guide providing important and interesting insights.

Steppes' Value Add

50 Euro on board credit.

If you prefer a private charter then we can recommend some beautiful private yachts or gulets such as the Gulet Pacha, a 4-cabin private gulet offering tailored cruising options.

Day 2

Independent Sightseeing in Dubrovnik
Explore Dubrovnik on your own for the next two days. George Bernard Shaw was so enchanted by this beautiful city, about which he said "those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see Dubrovnik", as well as famously describes it as "the pearl of the Adriatic". Dubrovnik truly is a stunning city with its amazing Old Town, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. A magnificent curtain of walls surrounds marble streets and baroque buildings that exude a pearly light in the Adriatic sun. The main pedestrian thoroughfare, Placa, is a mélange of cafés and shops with outstanding monuments at either end. Churches, monasteries and museums ornamented with finely carved stone recall an eventful history and a vibrant artistic tradition.

Some sightseeing suggestions

Take a cable car from downtown Dubrovnik 778 metres up to the Mount Srd. The views from the top over the old town are wonderful.

Dubrovnik is full of history and there are many interesting museums worth exploring including the Rupe museum which showcases local life and traditions throughout history.

Visit the island of Lokrum, just 600 metres off the coast. This protected natural reserve is a monument of landscape architecture and also a popular swimming spot.

Enjoy fresh seafood at an oyster and sushi bars, or soak up the sun on one of the many beaches in and around the city.

Visit Konavle valley, the wine growing region just 20kms south of Dubrovnik, famed for its' white wine Malvasija Dubrovacka.
