  • Rapelling
  • River Drifts
  • Dolphin Watching
  • Whale Watching (in season)
  • Stand-up Paddle Boarding

Arriving to the delightful Finca Rosa Blanca is a wonderful way to begin your honeymoon. Stay in a master suite to rest after your flight before jetting off by helicopter for unparalleled views of Poas, Barva and Arenal Volcanoes.

Then white water raft to one of the most remote and romantic jungle lodges in Costa Rica; Pacuare Lodge.  Stay in a Linda Vista suite for jaw dropping views of the jungle canopy.  Wonderfully private with a wraparound balcony, infinity plunge pool and a roll top bath, there is little reason to leave your room. However we promised adventure, so Pacuare’s Canopy Adventure will ensure an adrenaline filled day topped off with lunch on a 20 metre high platform known as the Nest.  Visit local communities and hike through the forest and relax in the lodge spa for an organic chocolate massage.  Depart Pacuare in similar style to arriving and take on the class III & IV rapids downstream.  At your raft out point, a private transfer will be waiting for the journey to Arenal.

Embark on a sky river drift, a combination of an exhilarating zip wire system and dropping 40 metres to the river below.  Float with the current in individual rings over rapids before retiring to Arenal Nayara for the night. Spend a morning hiking the lava field below the mighty Arenal Volcano before relaxing in the thermal waters of Tabacon Hotsprings.

Continue your honeymoon to Costa Rica by charter plane south to the Osa Peninsula.  On arrival to Golfito, travel by boat to Playa Cativo.  Over the next few days indulge yourselves in this luxurious rainforest setting and set about the amazing range of excursions available.  Each day brings new adventures whether it is swimming in waterfalls, stand-up paddle boarding lesson, boat trips on the Golfo Dulce to spot for dolphins or Whales (in season), snorkelling and night time jungle hikes.  This area is one of the most diverse and striking regions in the country and a beautiful place to conclude your honeymoon to Costa Rica.

Day 1

Fly London to Houston

Fly Houston to San Jose

Most visits to Costa Rica start and finish in San José, the country's capital. This bustling city lies in Costa Rica's Central Valley and has a year round, spring-like climate and a cosmopolitan feel. And while it may lack the impressive colonial architecture of other latin cities, it offers a handful of good museums, regular cultural events and excellent day trips into the surrounding countryside.

In the central highlands above San Jose, you will find the small towns of Alajuela and Heredia as well as numerous coffee plantations located on the fertile slopes of the Poas Volcano. The accommodation in this area offers a tranquil retreat that's just a short drive from San José's city centre.

You will be staying at Finca Rosa Blanca, Bed & Breakfast

Day 2

Helicopter Overflight of Poas, Barva and Arenal Volcanoes
This morning embark on a two hour helicopter flight over Poas volcano with its huge active crater and navy blue lagoon. The pilot will continue the flight over Barva, an extinct volcano, covered by dense vegetation. Continue to the San Carlos valley where the majestic silhouette of Arenal Volcano rises in the distance. Arenal is a perfect conical shape standing 1600m high surrounded in cloud forest. Since its last explosion in 1968 it has regularly puffed steam and expelled lava streams, but has been quiet of late.

You will be staying at Finca Rosa Blanca, Bed & Breakfast

Day 3

Pacuare Lodge Rafting In
Private transfer to the Raddison Hotel, the meeting point for your rafting adventure to Pacuare Lodge. From here, there will be a shared transfer to the Pacuare River where you will be met by the team from Pacuare Lodge and given a safety briefing and taught some basic rafting techniques.

The journey to the lodge is an exciting trip through beautiful scenery and some fun Class I and II rapids - a truly unique way to arrive at the lodge.

Please note that if there has been extraordinary rainfall, it may not be possible to get to the lodge. In the unlikely event that this happens, alternative arrangements will be provided.

Baggage allowance is one piece per person, 22x8x16 inches in size and with a maximum weight of 12kg.

Excess luggage will be stored either back in San Jose or in Siquirres for collection. You can pay a supplement for excess luggage to be rafted in and out with you.

You will be staying at Pacuare Lodge, Full board

Day 4

Canopy Adventure & snacks at The Nest
Facing the beauty of the rainforest head-on and at speed on is an exhilarating experience. This canopy adventure includes zipping between trees on a network of cables and descending jungle-clad mountains towards Pacuare Lodge, where snacks and drinks are served at the Nest, a platform set in the branches of a huge Ceiba tree. At 20 metres above the jungle floor, this is certainly a table with a view.Finish by rappelling down to land just steps away from the main lodge.

Turrialba is located 90 minutes east of San Jose, on the Reventazon River in a highland valley, 2118 feet above sea level. The area is a mix of tropical rainforest and agriculture. Coffee, sugarcane and macademia farms operate in the shadow of a dormant volcano. The town used to be an important stop on the “Jungle Train” that linked San Jose to Limon on the Caribbean coast but was discontinued after a major earthquake in 1990. The road into Turrialba is very scenic, following the valley contours and you can still see evidence of the dismantled railway tracks in town. In fact, the old station is now a restaurant.

This beautiful, little-visited rural area of Costa Rica is a very tranquil place to relax but also offers a great range of activities including horse riding, rafting, hiking and some excellent canyoning.

You will be staying at Pacuare Lodge, Full board

Day 5

Bajos del Tigre and Nairi Awari Reserve Hike
Today embark on a jungle hike to visit two indigenous communities. Cross the Pacuare River from the lodge hike to Bajos del Tigre, where many of the lodge staff live. Bajos del Tigre is a small Indian community within the Nairi Awari Reserve. Crossing the river once more, the guide will take you to a tiny community deeper into the rainforest. Visit the primary school and refuel with a picnic lunch before heading back down the jungle trail to the lodge.

Jawa Juü Spa Couples Massage
This afternoon book in to the Jawa Juü Spa for a couples massage incorporating aromatherapy and organic chocolate treatments.

You will be staying at Pacuare Lodge, Full board

Day 6

Rafting out from Pacuare Lodge
After breakfast, the lodge staff will kit you out for the rafting trip back to civilisation. This is a thrilling half day of grade III and IV rapids through outstanding scenery of deep-sided gorges and dense riverside jungle. The pull out for lunch in an open-sided palapa-roofed hut that was built by the local indigenous community. Your rafting guides and kayakers will rustle up a tasty picnic lunch that you can enjoy while watching the occasional raft shooting the rapids below.

There are shower and changing facilities at the pull-out point where you can freshen up before your onward transfer. The area is a mix of tropical rainforest and agriculture; coffee, sugarcane and macademia farms operate in the countryside.

Drive from Siquirres to Arenal (Road Journey)

Arenal is an area of stunning scenery, waterfalls, forest and lake but the undoubted star attraction is Arenal Volcano. This perfectly conical volcano is currently entering a quiet phase with little volcanic activity but this huge geological feature has a very imposing presence and offers wonderful walking trails through the tropical forest that cloaks its base. Its geothermal activity also warms the hot springs that sooth many an aching joint.

As a centre for adventure sports, Arenal offers white water rafting, zip lining, canopy walkways, horse riding, canyoning, mountain biking, windsurfing and challenging hikes, all which can be enjoyed in the middle of some outstanding scenery.

You will be staying at Arenal Nayara, Bed & Breakfast

Day 7

Sky River Drift
The Sky River Drift is a novel take on zip lining and river floats. Traverse through the canopy across three carbon cables before arriving at a platform over 40 metres high. From here, descend by a speed controlled device, hands free, to a river pool below. Once down, board a rubber raft and be taken with the current along the fast flowing Piedras Negras River over rapids to the output.
