Utterly isolated and bounded by mountains and forests, Awasi Patagonia is nestled within the undulating Tercera Barranca Private Reserve that overlooks Torres del Paine National Park and the Patagonian Steppe. Momentarily excluding the heroic landscape, perhaps the most impressive element of a stay at Awasi Patagonia is the unparalleled freedom and exclusivity that comes as a result of exploring off the beaten track at the “End of the World” with an assigned personal naturalist guide and 4x4 vehicle.
Its 12 wood-clad villas are scattered over densely forested terrain, designed with unobtrusive minimalism in mind so as to melt in to the spectacular landscape, and each of these pristine outposts features its own al fresco hot tub and wood burning stove. A cosy central lodge decorated with hand-carved artefacts and books houses a tranquil social space, while the show-stopping Relais & Chateaux restaurant serves exquisite native fare designed by highly regarded chef.
Why we like Awasi Patagonia
Offering a truly authentic tailor-made experience, Awasi Patagonia’s private guides will take you where you want, when you want, in a private 4×4 vehicle. Like travelling with an old friend, the guides take you to all of the lesser-known insider spots.
With wide-winged condors and eagles overhead, venture out in to the spectacular Patagonian landscape with your guide through vast panoramas dotted with herds of grazing guanacos. Saddle up and ride across the plains alongside a gaucho, indulge in a secluded private picnic in the middle of the mountains or head out on a hike in search of the elusive puma.
The wonder of Awasi Patagonia is that they can accommodate almost any request, even running a marathon! Then, after a long day spent out in the elements, return to the villa to soak in the hot tub, sip a drink by the fire and eventually sit down for a leisurely meal in the Relais & Chateaux restaurant.

Just as it should be, Awasi Patagonia seems to have been built around nature and not on top of it, constructed on stilts so as to have a minimum environmental impact. Their 11,000-acre private reserve doubles as the base for The Awasi Puma Foundation, a project run by scientists and researchers with the goal of protecting the puma’s unique ecosystem.
Awasi Patagonia is the world's southernmost Relais & Chateaux hotel, set in the Tercera Barranca Private Reserve and overlooking Torres del Paine National Park.
The property has been featured in a number of celebrated publications that include Condé Nast Traveller, Food and Travel Magazine, Forbes and The New York Times, and has been awarded Best Adventure Honeymoon Hotel by Condé Nast Brides.
