Day 3

Time to Yourself
The capital of British Columbia, Victoria is known as the garden city with the lush wilderness surrounding the city combined with the beautiful gardens. The world renowned Butchart Gardens are worth a visit located in Brentwood Bay to the north of Victoria and can easily be combined with a ferry crossing to or from Vancouver.

Victoria boasts many historic buildings that mirror the history of this city. Fort Victoria built in 1843 can be found in the Old Town at the heart of the downtown and details much of the history of the city from the arrival of the Lekwammen villages, the trading between the aboriginal people and the European arrivals, along with the mining and coal trades that developed this city. Explore the Parliament Buildings overlooking the Inner Harbour and the Royal BC Museum located nearby.

Set on the west coast of BC, wildlife is prevalent in the surrounding wilderness. Head out on a boat whale watching and catch the migrations over the summer months.

Day 4

Half Day Whale Watching
This morning explore the Pacific waters with a morning whale watching excursion. The Juan de Fuca and Haro Straits are home to three orca (killer whale) pods, with nearly 100 orcas among them making sightings all but guaranteed. There’s also a chance of spotting humpback, minke, and gray whales. Other marine life you may encounter includes Dalls porpoise, otters, and elephant seals.

Day 5

Time to Yourself
Set on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Tofino is a small town of approximately 2,000 that is surrounded by rich natural wilderness. The spectacular beauty and ecological diversity of the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO site, makes it one of the most desirable locations for both local and international travellers. Spend time exploring both land and sea with fishing, kayaking, whale watching, black bear watching and surfing key activities of this vibrant town. Many activities are booked well in advance during peak summer months but can occasionally be arranged on arrival to the town.

Take time to learn of the dynamic arts scene that plays a key part of this town, with nature and First Nations Culture the focus of much of the work. The Eagle Aerie Gallery owned by Roy Henry Vickers is worth a visit displaying some of the finest pieces of First Nations Art and set in a stunning traditional Northwest Coast longhouse.

Day 6

Full Day Kayaking Meares Island
Kayaking is the most unique way to explore the old-growth temperate rain forest of Meares Island. Paddle to the big tree trail in a hand craft canoe. Let your Nuu-chah-nulth guide share a traditional perspective of the life in this old growth ecosystem and gain insight to how interconnected the ocean, the forest, and the way of life truly are.

Witness some of the oldest red cedar trees in the area, in a place that played a pivotal role in first nation’s rights in British Columbia as well as environmental conservation in Clayoquot Sound.

Day 7

Tofino - Whistler

Drive the scenic journey from Tofino to Whistler. A ferry will take you from Vancouver Island back to the mainland where you will then make your way along the west coast route through the mountains.

You will be staying at Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort, Bed & Breakfast

Day 8

Time to Yourself
Whistler Blackcomb is a legendary ski village set in the dramatic coastal mountains of British Columbia just two hours north of Vancouver. Whilst the winter is the most popular time to visit, this vibrant village is bustling throughout the year and just as active in the summer months. In summer, the mountains are alive with activities from mountain biking, hiking and horse riding, to ATV tours and ziplining adventures. It is easy to stay busy here with all the activities easily accessible and the ski lifts offering access across the mountains. For a more secluded option, hire a car and head out into the BC wilderness where there are plentiful lakes and forests that have walking trails marked clearly and can be explored in a day.

"Roxy filled us with enthusiasm and came up with some great ideas for a trip. We liked the idea of a slightly 'off the beaten track experience' and some private bespoke activities and that's exactly what we've had. Thank you!"

"Roxy created a wonderfully interesting route which was the basis for a super trip. She also chose lovely places for us to stay and interesting activities for us to participate in, introducing us to the idea of private guided experiences which we thoroughly enjoyed."
