Clayoquot Wilderness Resort

Clayoquot is an exclusive, luxury tented camp set in a magical location amidst pristine wilderness. The 25 guest tents are no ordinary tents and offer high spec interiors to rival any luxury hotel.

Furnished in a traditional style, plush down duvets cover king-size beds and antique furniture sits alongside colourful rugs and atmospheric lighting. Fifteen of the tents are ensuite with shower room and the other five have toilets just outside the tent and shared showers nearby. Designed on raised platforms, the tents are scattered along the water's edge, while cedarwood boardwalks wind through the forest towards the main cook house. The camp also has spa tents and hot tubs.

Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is tucked away in the remote Clayoquot Sound on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Accesible only by seaplane, the flight from Vancouver takes approximately 45 minutes over the mountains and rivers of Vancouver Island or alternatively it is possible to arrive by boat from the town of Tofino – a 30-minute journey through the magical Clayoquot sound.

A stay at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is all about the magical scenery and wildlife right on the doorstep; however, additional facilities are available should a little pampering be necessary during a stay. Additional lodge facilities include:

  • Healing Grounds Spa
  • Small fitness room
  • Daily Yoga classes
  • Complimentary sauna and hot tub
  • Restaurant serving a variety of cuisine created using locally sourced meats, seafood and produce

Why we like it

Well, where to start? The location is simply beautiful; the interior is inspirational; the service is exceptional. Families are more than welcome with children over the age of 10. Daily tours in search of orcas or black bears will leave the heart pounding. Clayoquot really defines luxury in the wilderness.
