Located in the high alpine region of Banff National Park in Alberta, Skoki Lodge provides a remote retreat.
The lodge is only accessible by hiking or skiing in from Lake Louise(no exceptions) and most have to find their own way, but we can provide you with a guide.
So if you are not keen on cross country skiing or a good stomp in summer, this lodge is not for you. However, for hiking enthusiasts and keen skiiers, Skoki is a wholesome and rewarding experience. The wildflower meadows are out of this world in summer, and the wildlife opportunities are excellent. Black bears, big horn sheep, hoary marmots and beaver can all be seen. In the winter endless slopes for skiing, and cross country trails for telemarking and snow shoeing are open for exploring.
22 guests are accommodated between the main lodge and 3 cabins. The rooms are traditional built log cabins, warmed by propane heaters. There is no electricity or running water, though warm wash water is always available and at night the warm glow of kerosene lamps will give you light.
Why we like it
There is a certain charm about Skoki Lodge and its location. An evening spent playing scrabble by oil lamp is a wonderful reminder of how the simple things in life can give the most pleasure.
