Begin this family holiday to Canada with some time to explore the metropolis of Vancouver where beaches, mountains, rainforest, and skyscrapers meet. Embark on a thrilling flying ride across Canada on the ultimate state of the art, cinematic experience before exploring some of the many fascinating interactive museums. Dine out on fresh seafood and delicious ice-cream and even spend a night underwater, at Vancouver aquarium. The city of Vancouver has plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

Whistler

Travel two hours north through the dramatic coastal scenery of British Columbia, along the Scenic Sky Highway to spend a couple of days in the legendary ski village of Whistler. Whilst the winter months from November to April are the most popular time to visit, this vibrant village is bustling throughout the year and just as active in the summer months. From May to the end of October the mountains are alive with activities from mountain biking, hiking, and horse riding, to 4WD tours and ziplining adventures. It is easy to stay busy here with all the activities easily accessible and the ski lifts offering access across the mountains.

Grizzly bears

A short flight will take you to Knight Inlet, nestled amidst the snow-capped peaks of Canada's rugged coastline and home to one of the largest concentrations of grizzly bears in western Canada. Spend time exploring the magical wilderness and wildlife of this area. Renowned for its rich fishing waters this is prime feeding grounds for orca and grizzly bear and the region boasts incredible scenery with a scattering of small islands creating many hidden areas that are perfect for wildlife to thrive.

Tofino & Clayoquot sound

Explore the south west coast of Vancouver Island with some time to relax. Home to the UNESCO designated Clayoquot Sound the area is awash with rich natural wilderness from temperate coastal rainforest to rocky coastal shores. Spend time walking amidst the imposing cedar groves, learning about first nation’s history and exploring some of the beautiful white sandy beaches, known for their excellent surfing.

End your holiday with a stay at the award winning Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. Day 1

Fly London to Vancouver


Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains of British Colombia, Vancouver is a vibrant cosmopolitan city, bustling throughout the year. Renowned for its scenic beauty and endless outdoor activities, there is plenty of opportunity to get out and about. Get active and cycle through Stanley Park, explore the North Shore mountain trails, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge or head out on kayak to explore English Bay.

Day 2

Vancouver Family Day
Spend today exploring Vancouver with experiences for all the children, big and small. Interactive museums, old fashioned tram rides, huge parks and an aquarium which is widely respected for its research and conservation practices. Fly over Canada on a state of the art immersive cinematic experience before gorging on ice-cream with flavours ranging from London fog to chocoholics anonymous.

Day 3

Drive the Sky Scenic Highway


Drive from Vancouver to Whistler along the Sky Scenic Highway, a spectacular journey taking around two hours. Pass dramatic mountain and coastal scenery with plenty of reasons to stop enroute, either to admire the magical views or try out some of the interactive kiosks. There is also the option to drive the route in a supercar including Lamborghini's and Ferrari's.


Time to Yourself
Whistler Blackcomb is a legendary ski village set in the dramatic coastal mountains of British Columbia just two hours north of Vancouver. Whilst the winter is the most popular time to visit, this vibrant village is bustling throughout the year and just as active in the summer months. In summer, the mountains are alive with activities from mountain biking, hiking and horse riding, to ATV tours and ziplining adventures. It is easy to stay busy here with all the activities easily accessible and the ski lifts offering access across the mountains. For a more secluded option, hire a car and head out into the BC wilderness where there are plentiful lakes and forests that have walking trails marked clearly and can be explored in a day.

Day 4

Ziptrek Ecotours
This exhilarating adventure explores the wilderness through a network of suspension bridges, boardwalks and forest trails. With stunning views across the Fitzsimmons Creek, this is a great way to spend the day as a family or for first time zippers.

For a more advanced zip trek tour, try the Tree Trek Canopy Walk or the Ziptrek Eagle tour that includes a monster zipline with a 30-storey descent.

Tours last from one and a half to three hours.

Day 5

Cheakamus Splash Adventure
This three hour tour is a relaxing float down the Cheakamus and lower Squamish rivers with the added excitement of some very gentle rapids mixed in to keep everyone entertained. Along the way learn about the intriguing Squamish First Nations history, soak in some amazing views and get the chance to cool off with a quick dip in the pure, glacier-fed, jade-tinted water.

Day 6

Drive from Whistler to Campbell River (Road Journey)


Drive from Petra to Amman (A road journey of 235 kilometres which should take around three and a half hours)


Set on the east coast of Vancouver Island, Campbell River is renowned for its rich fishing waters that not only draw keen fishermen to the area, but also wildlife enthusiasts. With all five species of Pacific Salmon, the waters here are key feeding grounds with prime Orca and grizzly bear habitats found in the Johnston Strait.

This region boasts incredible scenery with a scattering of small islands creating many hidden areas that are perfect for wildlife to thrive. From spring through to autumn this area thrives.

Day 7

Travel from Campbell River to Knight Inlet (Air Transfer Journey)


Set admist the snow-capped peaks of Canada's rugged coastline, Knight Inlet is a wild and remote area of British Columbia set between the mainland and Vancouver Island, home to one of the largest concentrations of grizzly (brown) bears in western Canada.

Day 8

Knight Inlet 1 day/2 night Excursion
Spend time exploring the wilderness and viewing the wildlife including the grizzly bears that can be seen in high numbers in this area (in season). Excursions are either by boat or at one of the strategically placed viewing stands. Enjoy a scenic boat tour of Glendale Cove to explore the scattered islands and the prolific wildlife.

Day 9

Travel from Knight Inlet to Campbell River (Air Transfer Journey)

Drive from Campbell River to Tofino


A journey time of approximately 3 hours.

Day 10

Time to Yourself
Set on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Tofino is a small town of approximately 2,000 that is surrounded by rich natural wilderness. The spectacular beauty and ecological diversity of the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO site, makes it one of the most desirable locations for both local and international travellers. Spend time exploring both land and sea with fishing, kayaking, whale watching, black bear watching and surfing key activities of this vibrant town. Many activities are booked well in advance during peak summer months but can occasionally be arranged on arrival to the town.

Take time to learn of the dynamic arts scene that plays a key part of this town, with nature and First Nations Culture the focus of much of the work. The Eagle Aerie Gallery owned by Roy Henry Vickers is worth a visit displaying some of the finest pieces of First Nations Art and set in a stunning traditional Northwest Coast longhouse.
