Situated on the western side of Hunda Island, in the Jao Concession of the Okavango Delta, Tubu Tree Camp offers an intimate atmosphere.
Eight tented rooms are set on raised wooden platforms with rustic handmade furnitures.
Reed poles divide the bedroom section from the en-suite bathroom and there are indoor and outdoor showers. Sliding doors open the rooms out to private decks, each with different views of the floodplains.
The main lounge and dining room are under traditional canvas, with an open front, leading off to the outdoor pub area on the wooden deck, which is shaded by a large marula tree. Also popular is a terrace with a sandy fire pit, where many an African story is told around the crackling fire.
Why we like Tubu Tree Camp
The crystal-clear waters of the Delta by traditional mokoro is the best way to reveal the smaller fascinating creatures living in the delta.
