True North is a luxury adventure cruise ship, purpose built to access shallow coastal areas that are unreachable by larger vessels.
With just 18 spacious and modern cabins, she feels more akin to an exclusive hotel but with the added benefits of ever changing scenery outside your window. An extremely knowledgeable crew are on hand to look after guests along with on board naturalists and marine biologists. A full time on-board helicopter and six expedition boats are available to take guests ashore while on board there is a sundeck, observation lounge, bar, as well as a lower deck dining area with uninterrupted panoramic views.
The charming, knowledgeable and super-efficient-crew effortlessly manage to make guests feel pampered and spoilt, yet relaxed and at home. The beauty of having multiple adventure boats also means that the crew can be flexible and cater to each guest’s preferences on a daily basis. The gourmet food, incredible facilities and the chance to explore some of the world’s true wildernesses really do make a trip on True North an in a lifetime.
The crew on board True North are generally Australian and know the geography, history and wildlife of Australia like no one else. With an extremely high crew to guest ratio, they are also able to ensure a truly personal service. Every sailing has a ships biologist on board who leads a team of six guides, one per expedition boat.
The shallow draft, expedition boats and on board helicopter allow access to otherwise inaccessible areas of vast wilderness, plus the chance to view the sheer scale of regions from the air. The ship houses six comfortable adventure boats which are deployed daily for guests to explore from the water plus the on-board helicopter for incredible aerial views. Daily activities on offer range from scuba diving, scenic walks, fishing, snorkelling and helicopter, all interspersed with time to relax.
Adventure-cruising is a low impact means of accessing wilderness without the intrusion of roads. True North can explore yet leave no trace of its visit. The ship is also compliant with requirements under the MARPOL Convention – an international convention designed to minimise and eventually eliminate pollution of the sea by harmful substances. On-board waste is either processed via a treatment plant, retained for recycling or retained for disposal at an approved waste management site.
