Built to brave the wildness of Antarctica, the Terra Nova Adventurer takes you to the edge of the world. With more than 600 polar voyages behind it, this 105-metre expedition ship is purpose-built for the extremes, with an Ice Class 1B rating and a crew of seasoned polar experts. The Adventurer is built to take you further. To push beyond the ordinary, and explore the extraordinary.
Hosting an average of 98 passengers, she offers comfortable en-suite cabins with windows or portholes, inviting lounges, a library, restaurant and bar. Step onto the deck to watch the wildlife and admire the dramatic polar peaks. After a day of discovery, retreat to the warmth of a sauna or outdoor Jacuzzi. A fleet of 14 zodiacs, kayaking, camping and snowshoeing invite you to adventure, and the expert-led talks tell the secrets, science and stories of this beautiful wilderness.

The Adventurer offers the perfect base to explore the edge of the world. To chase the tail of your curiosity, by foot and by sea. The Adventurer also offers travellers access to the Icebird, a smaller ship, purpose built for breaking the boundaries of polar travel and offering you access to the area like never before.
The Terra Nova Adventurer’s name makes no false promises. Discover Antarctica at water level, on foot and beneath the open sky. Paddle a kayak through ice-framed coves, join zodiac excursions to penguin colonies or strap on snowshoes to explore the snowfields beyond the shore. On selected departures, spend a night in an expedition bivvy, with no tent between you and the Antarctic sky. Photography sessions help you capture the shifting polar light, while a supervised polar plunge offers a bracing change of perspective.
To say “the edge of the world”, would not be wrong. But to be more precise, the Adventurer departs from Ushuaia for the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands, with some voyages travelling further south across the Antarctic Circle. You will cruise through some of the most remote wilderness in the world, yet the Adventurer is unfazed by such conditions, as its retractable stabilisers and bow thruster ensure absolute stability and safety.
Exploration should never mean exploitation. Terra Nova’s approach puts care for Antarctica’s landscapes and wildlife at the heart of the adventure. Guided by its EARTH programme and aligned with five UN Sustainable Development Goals, Terra Nova combines practical measures aboard with responsible exploration ashore. Fuel-efficient engines, water refill stations and a jacket reuse programme help reduce fuel use and waste, while strict biosecurity and wildlife guidelines help protect sensitive landing sites. Expert-led talks and citizen science projects deepen guests’ understanding of Antarctica. Terra Nova also supports local suppliers and communities in the regions visited.
