Canal du Midi Barge Cruise on board Anjodi

One of the most picturesque canals in France, lined with charming villages, ancient Roman sites and world-class vineyards, the Canal du Midi now has UNESCO status due to the remarkable feat of engineering taken to construct it.

Starting in the pretty village of Marseillan, this six-day cruise navigates some of the 150 mile long, Plane tree-lined Canal du Midi. On shore, highlights include the frescoes at the 14^th century Chateau de Perdiguier, famed for its pinot noir and Chardonnay wines, the bustling indoor market at Narbonne, the hilltop fort at Minerve and of course the superb medieval fortified settlement at Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the cruise, Anjodi will ascend the 7 flight staircase lock of Fonserannes and moor above it before dining out at a Michelin rated restaurant in Beziers.
