When you arrange your flights through Steppes Travel, you’re not simply asking us to add an airfare to an itinerary – you’re ensuring your holiday is protected in a way that independent flight bookings often aren’t.
If flights and land arrangements are booked together as part of a package holiday, you benefit from the financial protection provided by the UK’s ATOL scheme, alongside the wider safeguards offered under the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs).
But what does this mean in real terms?
Comprehensive financial protection
Holidays protected under ATOL ensure your money is safeguarded. In the unlikely event of supplier failure or significant disruption, you have clear financial protection and practical support. If you are a UK resident, then ATOL applies to any booking you make with Steppes Travel, as long as it includes a flight element as part of the package. If you are not resident in the UK, then ATOL only applies to your holiday booking if you have flights booked with Steppes Travel that originate in the UK.
Protection under the Package Travel Regulations
If the airline cancels your flights, then it’s the responsibility of Steppes Travel to find you an alternative. Should this not be possible, then Steppes Travel will refund the cost of your holiday in full. If you book your own flights and they are cancelled by the airline, you’re still liable for the cost of the ground package booked with Steppes Travel. Very few travel insurance providers currently offer cover for this eventuality.
Flight cancellations, schedule changes and missed connections are increasingly common. When flights are booked through Steppes Travel, our team can step in to resolve problems, liaise with airlines and reorganise onward arrangements. You’re not left managing complex situations alone, often from overseas.
Booking a holiday is both a significant investment and precious time away. Booking flights with Steppes Travel provides not only convenience, but confidence that every aspect of the journey is properly protected and professionally managed.
