Below is a selective list of countries that are open right now for tourism, for vaccinated travellers and for those who can show a negative COVID-19 test result prior to arrival. Of course, things get a little complicated with destinations based on where you are travelling from, i.e from the UK so needing to adhere to the Traffic Light System or from the US, so for specific information please do contact our experts for details.

Botswana: Open for travellers without needing to quarantine if you can present a printed original test certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, conducted within 72 hours of departure for Botswana as well as undergo health screening for COVID-19 symptoms. If arriving at Maun Airport, a Rapid Antigen Test (free of charge) is required. Results are available after about 15 minutes. You will also need to complete a traveler locator form with accurate contact information while in Botswana so that the local Health Authority can contact you, if necessary, within 14 days.

Croatia: Travellers from most countries can enter Croatia without the need for pre-arrival testing or quarantine if they arrive at least 14 days after being vaccinated.

Costa Rica: Their borders are open to travellers departing from anywhere in the world. While a 14-day quarantine is not mandatory, travellers will have to fill out an online form called “Pase de Salud” (Health Pass). A PCR test is no longer necessary to enter Costa Rica, but travellers are required to have a valid insurance policy.

Georgia: Visitors to Georgia can enter by air with proof of a full course of any COVID-19 vaccination. Unvaccinated travellers can enter if they submit their travel history in advance, present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel, and take a further PCR test at their own expense on their third day in Georgia.

Greece: From April 19, 2021, residents of the USA, EU and Schengen states, the UK and UAE are exempted from quarantine restrictions if they present a) a negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours before arrival, or b) a certificate of vaccination, in English, issued by a public authority, provided that the vaccination was completed at least 14 days before arrival to Greece.

Guatemala:

Egypt: All travellers must present a negative RT-PCR test certificate on arrival, and the test must have been taken no more than 72 hours before the departure of their last direct flight to Egypt. Passengers are subject to temperature checks, must fill out a Public Health Card, and show proof of a valid health insurance policy.

Iceland: From April 6, 2021, all travellers – regardless of origin – are welcome to visit Iceland if they can show either: certificate of full vaccination against COVID.

Kenya: Open for international travel. Before arriving in Kenya, passengers are required to submit their COVID-19 test certificates to generate a Trusted Travel (TT) code. A negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate is required, obtained no later than 96 hours prior to departure from your home country.

Mexico: Mexico is currently open for international tourism, meaning that travellers can fly to Mexico and visit select beaches, including the one in Los Cabos, with no mandatory quarantine period upon arrival. The Mexican government strongly advises locals and visitors to continue practising COVID-19 preventive measures which include social distancing and proper hand hygiene practices among others.

Maldives: Upon arrival, inbound travellers will be granted a 30-day tourist visa and be exempted from having to self-isolate. Travellers will be expected to fill out a health declaration card and wear masks at all times for the duration of the flight.

Uganda: Open for travellers from Category 2 &3). You will need to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from an accredited laboratory in your country of origin, issued within 120 hours of departure for Uganda.

Seychelles: Currently open for tourism. All visitors must submit a negative PCR COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure. There is no quarantine requirement and no restriction on movement for visitors upon entry to Seychelles.
