June marks the start of Kyrgyzstan’s summertime, with temperatures increasing to an average of 27°C. Some camps are starting to reopen, but it can still be cold in mountainous regions. Lake Issyk-Kul is great for exploring at this time with a milder climate. Visitor numbers are still lower as this falls in the shoulder season so it is perfect for exploring without the crowds.

Mountainous regions over 3000 metres are now accessible, making it the one of the only months you are able to trek through spectacular, pristine landscapes.This is the one of the busiest times of year, so make sure to book well in advance to secure the best accommodation.
