Turtle Inn is a rustic, Indonesian-style beach resort on a narrow stretch of fine pearly white sands. It sits on Belize's southern coast, just two miles from the sleepy village of Placencia hosting a collection of thatched cottages and villas, including the film director's, Francis Ford Coppola, own Pavillion House.
Rooms are cooled with ceiling fans and many cottages are raised on stilts to improve ventilation with a screened balcony overlooking the gardens, or out towards the Caribbean Sea. The two-bedroom en suite villas are ideal for families while the impressive Pavilion House, surrounded by tropical gardens just steps from a private beach, with steam showers, a Japanese bathtub and a custom tiled private pool offers the height of luxury.
Facilities also include two swimming pools, a dive shop and kayaking.
Why we like it
