Searcher, Baja California, Mexico, ©Chris Thomas

Searcher

The 30-metre-long Searcher was built in 1970 in the US as a sports-fishing vessel. She has been operating around the Baja Peninsula for 30 years and is one of very few boats to have permits allowing entrance to marine parks and lagoons along the Baja Peninsula.

Although facilities are a little more basic than other vessels, she offers excellent wildlife viewing itineraries. There are 14 air-conditioned cabins equipped with bunks and storage shelves for gear plus four toilets and two showers. Three aluminium skiffs are available for shore excursions and wildlife viewing. This small group cruise offers unparalleled opportunities for observing wildlife.
