Why visit the Estancias

Estancias are local-style farmsteads that offer a unique experience in Argentina. The owners open up their family homes, often passed down through generations, to guests offering a very personal and privileged introduction to the ways of rural Argentine life, which has changed little in the last 50 years.

About the Estancias

The number of guest rooms at estancias tends to be small, the welcome you get very generous and the experience unique. Life on an estancia revolves around the demands of the estate and you may have the opportunity to help out, but with the wide variety of activities available there is always something for everybody, whether you are a rider or otherwise. Estancias can be visited on a day trip or for a couple of nights.

  • Experience traditional dance during one of many ‘gaucho’ festivals
  • Try your hand at polo
  • Savour a typical asado criollo (Argentine barbeque) and Argentine wine
  • Marvel at the gauchos working the cattle
  • Enjoy local bird watching excursions
