Located just half an hour from the Tadoba National Park gates, this modern eco-lodge sits within the buffer zone that borders the park. Waghoba is positioned on five hectares of untamed private land, making it feel like the park is on your doorstep.
This comfortable lodge lives up to its name, with impressively strong eco-credentials. The rooms are all built from adobe earth bricks, wastewater is naturally purified using a plant-based solution, rainwater is harvested and there is an active rewilding programme on site. On top of this, the lodge has made a commitment to ensure that 50% of its staff are female.
The lodge consists of 14 private cottages, each one with a private sit-out area and en-suite bathroom. These modern cottages are built from handmade adobe bricks and feature vaulted ceilings to keep them cool in the summer heat. The interiors are decorated in a relaxed, simple style, featuring teak furniture and tiled floors.
Other facilities at the lodge include a swimming pool, lake-facing birding hide and a library.
The focus at Waghoba is on tiger sightings, with Tadoba regarded as one of the best reserves for tiger sightings in India. These are done in customised 4x4s, accompanied by excellent guides. Other activities available include nature walks, boat trips, cycling safaris, night drives and visits to the Ramdegi Temple.
