Tinga Camp is an old government-style lodge dating back some 50 years. Simple in style it has a pretty riverside location and offers an excellent base from which to explore Zakouma National Park.  

All of the 24 chalet style rooms are en suite and can be arranged as double or twin rooms. Being thatched and round with ceiling fans and mosquito nets, the rooms are cool, offering a welcome retreat during the heat of peak season. Meals are taken in the communal dining area.

Why we like Tinga Lodge

Camp Nomade is widely considered Zakouma’s most luxurious option, which cannot be disputed, however what Tinga lacks in style, it makes up for in authenticity, excellent staff and a warm welcome. It is also possible to book on a per-room basis.

Location

Located within Zakouma Nation Park on the Salamat River, the nearest airport to Tinga is N’Djamena which is around a 14 hour drive away. Most people break up the journey and overnight at the halfway point in Mongo. Alternatively it is accessible by private charter flight.
