Steppes Travel is made by the people who work here. Incredible holidays are made possible because of their vast travel experience and the great enthusiasm they bring to their work.
We carefully select our experts based on their knowledge, companionship and influence, ensuring that you can travel with the most knowledgeable leaders in the field.
The people who lead the way when it comes to those things which matter to us: exploration, the environment, women’s empowerment and education.
Located outside Delhi, just off the Delhi-Jaipur highway, nestling against the Aravalli Hills is Tikli Bottom. An elegant, Lutyens-style country farmhouse offering a wonderfully serene introduction to India.
Tikli Bottom is a destination, not a stepping stone. Stay three nights to get the most out of us. There is plenty for the active traveller to do, yet nowhere is better for doing nothing at all.
Four double bedrooms are offered to guests to live en famille with the owners, Martin and Annie Howard. No beds are more comfortable; nobody’s air is cleaner, so close to Delhi, no food more organic and tasty, and nobody’s views through the windows better. They offer a soft landing on arrival in India, or as a tell-all-about-it safe haven before departing. Bedrooms have ACs, dressing rooms and bathrooms with tubs and showers. Sleeping on a charpai under the stars remains an option for the adventurous, so ask if you would like to do it. Pay for the bedroom and full board is free (breakfast, lunch and dinner and all drinks and tax), then enjoy living as a guest.
Tikli Bottom has the character of a hill station being almost surrounded by hills, and lies less than 50 km south of central Delhi in the state of Haryana, off the Delhi-Jaipur highway and is 30km and 45 minutes from the international airport. It is peaceful, quiet and most relaxing.
We know a thing or two about bespoke holidays – we’ve been creating them since 1989. Take a trip through the India holidays that we love today.

Built in 1952, The Claridges remains one of New Delhi’s most iconic hotels. A lovely amalgamation of elegance and contemporary luxury, it is located in close proximity to the Capital’s bustling commercial and cultural centres.
A faultless trip so brilliantly expedited and organised by Steppes Travel but with a major backup from those on the ground, in India.

At no point did we feel anything but full confidence in Kate. We actually returned from India having enjoyed the week she arranged for us immensely. We stayed in beautiful places and had wonderful experiences. Thank you, Steppes has delighted us.

All guides, drivers and vehicles were superb and it was such a great way to see everything and know everything. The service was excellent.
