Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort

Bagan, Myanmar

Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort sits on the banks of the Irrawaddy and offers panoramic river views with glorious sunsets. The hotel is set in 24 acres of landscaped gardens full of mature tropical trees and flowering plants and is home to several species of bird.

A former guesthouse for VIP government visitors, the style of the resort is in keeping with the region and offers a true sense of place.

Although the resort interiors are relatively simple this is more than made up for by the fabulous location and river views which are particularly spectacular as the sun goes down.

Activities

Explore the temples of Bagan on foot, by bike or horse and cart, take a river cruise on the Irrawaddy or play a round of golf at the nearby course. For a bit of culture it is possible to take a cookery class or learn the traditional art of lacquer painting.
