The Sanchaya combines an eclectic mix of South-East Asian styles within in a colonial mansion. Shuttered windows, black and white colour schemes and manicured gardens give the feel of a super chic plantation estate.

Located on a beautiful white sand beach, some of the 30 villas and suites are set on an inland lagoon, others with ocean views from their veranda or direct access onto the beach. Facilities range from an Olympic size swimming pool to a spa and even archery lawns.

Why we like The Sanchaya

The largest of 3,200 islands in the Riau Archipelago, Bintan has an interesting, eclectic mix of different cultures to explore and the hotel has a wonderful range of activities and facilities. A great trip is to mix the city buzz of Singapore and a relaxed week or so on the beach.

Activities

There is a wide range of activities on offer at The Sanchaya, although do be aware that most of them incur an additional charge. Cycling, paddle boarding, snorkelling, archery, hiking and golfing are all available. Cookery classes and yoga for a more relaxed experience or head away from the hotel for some island hopping, mangrove exploring or a visit to a local fishing village.
