From the outside, The Opposite House is clearly different from many of the other 5* hotels in the city – huge wooden entrance doors contrast with the striking green glass exterior and lead into an informal lobby area.
This ultra-modern and contemporary hotel was designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and built largely using reclaimed materials.
The 99 rooms plus one penthouse are light and airy with an uncluttered apartment feel. Some rooms have a balcony, others have a jacuzzi, and the penthouse is set over two floors with a large roof terrace and fully fitted kitchen. A 22-metre statement swimming pool, choice of restaurants and spa service complete this sleek hotel.
Not necessarily for everyone, but the Opposite House offers a refreshing change from the normal 5* hotels in the city. A boutique hotel with a funky and contemporary style, a great atmosphere and a superb location.
The Opposite House is in San Li Tun village, a vibrant open plan complex of shops, restaurants and cafes located in the heart of Beijing.
