Situated on a private island that rises from Lake Titicaca, Suasi Island Hotel is accessed by a four-hour sailing from Puno on a navigation that routes via Uros and Taquile islands, allowing guests to meet the unique communities that call this Peruvian lake their home.

Constructed from stone, adobe and totora reed, the property perches on a steep hillside of flowered terraces.

Its 23 spacious and bright rooms, many with exposed wooden beams, boast enchanting views over the lake through large windows or from balconies. A truly magical location for star-gazing, the country house offers a number of outdoor spaces that include terraces and hammock-filled gardens and even offers a private shorefront cabin.

The colourful Andean cuisine showcases native potatoes, local cheeses and stone-baked breads while activities include kayaking, beach barbeques and visiting the many alpaca and vicuñas.

Located on the only private island on the Peruvian lake, and four hours away from the city of Puno by sailboat, Suasi Island Hotel offers a unique destination that is embraced by a stunning landscape. A unique and exceptionally quiet hideaway, the property invites guests to explore the island and leave rejuvenated by nature.

Activities

Ramble between beaches and hills at your own pace in the company of the islands’ wild resident vicuñas, alpacas and elusive viscachas, or take time to yourself to meditate, read, write or paint in a magical landscape. Take to the waters in a kayak to explore the shoreline, or tuck in to a beachfront barbeque.

The presence of both a library and learning centre allows for hands-on discoveries of Lake Titicaca and the Collao plateau, specifically about their geological formation, fragile ecosystems and interesting cultures. Guests can also participate in the care of land and gardens by sowing potatoes and corn or moving the geese.
