Red Wall Garden Hotel is a charming, traditional-style hotel located inside one of the cities historical hutongs. Hutongs are traditional narrow alleys and single-story courtyard houses that once dominated the city of Beijing.
The 40 comfortable guestrooms include seven suites and at the heart of the hotel is the pretty courtyard, a social area to dine or relax in the sun.
This traditional hotel offers guests the chance to sample a slice of authentic and historic Beijing in comfort. The hotel is within walking distance of the Forbidden City plus some of the famous shopping streets but situated in the hutong district where aspects of Chinese culture and traditional life are preserved. A wonderful chance to see how people in Beijing lived in the past.
The Red Wall Garden Restaurant serves mainly classic Chinese cuisine. The hotel also has a cosy lounge/bar which is decorated with antique Chinese furniture and overlooks the pretty central courtyard. Cultural entertainment on selected evenings adds to the dining experience.
There are endless sites to visit in Beijing but the hotel itself does regularly put on cultural events including musical performances, art exhibitions, calligraphy and traditional cookery shows. The hotel also offers traditional Chinese massage and has a ping-pong table for guests use. Bicycles and rickshaws are provided by the hotel to explore the Hutongs where you can find small restaurants and stores, tea houses and witness mahjong games on the streets. Just 50 metres from the hotel lies the Hutong Museum, the first of its kind and funded by the Prince’s Foundation.
Just minutes’ walk from modern Beijing The Red Wall Garden Hotel is located in the Shijia Hutong within walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

The design and operation of this holiday was excellent and took us to places that we had hardly heard of. A great experience and opportunity to sample " Old China" before it becomes overcrowded. We were very happy with the whole procedure.
