Hotel Palacio del Sal is located on the edge of Colchani on the eastern shore of the salt lake and is built purely of salt. Not only are the floors, walls and ceilings made from salt, but so are most of the tables, chairs and beds.

The hotel is warm, friendly and stylishly decorated with cosy sitting areas complete with log burners. There are 30 rooms featuring conical ceilings made from large salt blocks and bright furnishings which contrast with the salt walls. The restaurant is spacious and serves buffet meals.

Built entirely from local salt bricks, this rustic hotel even has furniture made from salt, including the beds and chairs. The hotel has 49 rooms, of varying styles and sizes, some with salt lake views. They are tastefully decorated, have a snug and relaxing feel to them with very comfortable beds and welcoming pillows. There is a large restaurant with great views over the white desert which serves delicious meals. The hotel also has a spa with sauna and jacuzzi.
